The Pufas paint brand’s warehouse is getting a makeover – iFD is supplying a warehouse management system

Since its foundation in 1928, Pufas has continuously expanded its product range as well as its production and storage facilities. The introduction of the iFD Warehouse Management System at its site in Hannoversch Münden now marks another significant step forward for the company.

The Pufas paint brand offers a comprehensive range of pastes, adhesives, fillers, primers, paints, emulsion paints and other renovation products, which are manufactured at its sites in Hannoversch Münden and Leipzig. From its warehouse in Hannoversch Münden, the company supplies its products to specialist retailers, wholesalers and DIY stores both in Germany and abroad.

In the selection process, which was supported by the planning firm viaLog Logistik Beratung, iFD was able to convince the client Pufas with its technical expertise and experience from previously successfully completed projects. The two companies are currently working together on the implementation of the project and the associated goal of implementing a modern and future-proof WMS solution for Pufas.

In addition to WMS functions such as the mapping of goods receipt and the management of several high-bay warehouses – which are operated using narrow-aisle forklifts – the scope of the project also includes route-optimised control of transport within the warehouse and demand-driven supply to production. The go-live of the new software solution is planned for the end of 2020.
