Full-range motor supplier opts for iFD-WMS
iFD GmbH has secured a new WMS client in Lower Saxony. Schmettau & Fuchs GmbH supplies engines and vehicle wear parts. The aim is to optimise intralogistics using the agile and highly available iFD WMS and an AutoStore integration.
The warehouse is planned to include an AutoStore system, a pallet, shelving and block storage area, packing stations, order picking stations, a goods-in area, a goods-out area and a returns area.
The iFD-WMS functional scope includes, amongst other things:
- Goods receipt process against purchase orders or for unplanned goods receipts
- Receipt and putaway, taking into account various putaway strategies
- Stock and storage location management
- Manual and automatic replenishment, taking into account various replenishment strategies
- Picking in manual storage areas according to the ‘man-to-goods’ principle, single-order picking and multi-order picking
- Zero-pass inventory, continuous inventory, periodic inventory
- Integration of AutoStore
- Stocking in undivided and divided bins
- Requesting bins via the WMS
- Stock reservation at container level via the WMS
- Multi-order picking
- Integration of Pick-by-Light components at the ports
- Consolidation
- Packaging and dispatch, including integration with external dispatch software
- Value-added services
- Control of transport within the warehouse
The introduction of the system provides Schmettau & Fuchs GmbH with modern, future-proof software which, thanks to its modular structure, can be expanded at any time and adapted to changing processes. The system implementation optimises and simplifies existing processes and increases transparency within intralogistics.
