iFD offers hands-on software at LogiMAT 2019

Intralogistics specialist iFD will be showcasing its highly innovative transport control system at LogiMAT 2019, taking place from 19 to 21 February 2019 in Stuttgart at Stand A01 in Hall 10. With its tugger train control module and interfaces to semi- and fully-automated transport systems, the system can be seamlessly integrated into any logistics environment.

Through the use of artificial intelligence, empty runs can be avoided, and costs and environmental impact reduced. The transport control system bridges information and communication gaps, thereby contributing to networked logistics in line with Industry 4.0.

Standardised interfaces form an important basis for networking. iFD offers a range of standard solutions for various applications. The simplest variant is an interface between the host system and the transport vehicle in use. Here, the iFD middleware converts the order data into warehouse coordinates, checks them for plausibility and transfers them to the vehicle control system for automatic navigation to the destination. At the highest level of configuration, the system takes over the coordination and control of the entire warehouse area, including warehouse management.

iFD also provides support in the run-up to installation. Through a simulation that realistically depicts the complexity and dynamics of technical systems, processes can be presented transparently and cause-and-effect relationships identified. Workflows can be tested and optimally coordinated, whilst bottlenecks are also identified and analysed.

iFD offers hands-on software

Visitors to the iFD stand have the opportunity to test the components of the forklift guidance system live on a haptic board and compare various input and output options.

The highlight of this year’s trade fair is the iFD Forklift Race – in a virtual gaming environment, man and machine go head-to-head. This clearly demonstrates the limits of human capability. In return, the software reveals its scheduling and process logic to help the player understand the benefits of systematic support. Every participant also has the chance to secure an attractive prize with the best performance.

iFD GmbH is a reliable full-service provider in the field of intralogistics. Since the company was founded in 1990, over 300 projects have been implemented across various industries in the fields of warehouse management, material flow control, transport management and simulation. Thanks to its own research and development department and close cooperation with universities and colleges, iFD GmbH’s products are constantly being further developed, thereby achieving their highly innovative character.
