iFD is modernising the intralogistics operations at Boizenburg Fliesen GmbH

Boizenburg Fliesen has been producing ceramic tiles for residential and commercial use at its Boizenburg site, approximately 70 km east of Hamburg, since 1903. With 169 employees on a 25-hectare site, Boizenburg Fliesen GmbH manufactures up to 19,000 square metres of wall and floor tiles daily across five production lines.

Following the modernisation of the production facilities back in 2017, the intralogistics and IT systems are now also due for an update.

iFD has been commissioned to carry out this challenging task. The introduction of the iFD-WMS will improve the company’s logistics processes and consolidate them into a single system. Until now, processes and stock levels were managed in two independent systems that no longer meet the requirements of modern warehouse management. In future, the iFD-WMS will manage a wide range of storage areas, including several shelving and bulk storage areas as well as an automated high-bay warehouse.

The go-live of the new software solution is scheduled for November 2019.
