iFD enters the Russian market
In recent years, the logistics sector in Eastern Europe has developed rapidly. iFD is also benefiting from these developments and is increasingly focusing on expanding partnerships and contacts. The first project on the Russian market was implemented as early as the beginning of 2013.
With KOMUS, iFD now counts the country’s largest office supplies distributor among its clients. The Warehouse Management System (WMS) at KOMUS meets the requirements for extensive batch formation and two-stage picking. In addition, replenishment was upgraded by implementing nine different replenishment variants. The integration of a customised picking procedure reduces the number of individual item picks. To name just a few highlights of the comprehensive WMS.
As customer proximity and reliability are cornerstones of iFD, the Russian branch in Moscow was established as part of the initial project in 2014. The Managing Director of the Russian office, Alexander Gaydarji, emphasises: “We guarantee our customers a global service, fast response times and on-site project support, provided by trained specialists.”
iFD now wishes to further intensify its activities in the Russian market; this includes a training programme to ensure that local specialists meet the high standards of iFD and its customers, as well as the further expansion of the site in the areas of software development and field engineering.
As part of German-Russian cooperation, at the end of February, Wirtschaftsförderung Sachsen GmbH, in collaboration with VEMASinnovativ, welcomed a delegation from the Russian machine tool association Stankoinstrument. With a focus on digitalisation and Industry 4.0 in machine tool manufacturing, the delegation visited various companies and research institutions in Chemnitz and the surrounding area, amongst other places.
As part of the week-long visit and to facilitate contact between selected Saxon companies and the Russian firms, a cooperation forum was launched at the Chemnitz Industrial Museum. At the invitation of Federico Rosenbaum from the Saxony Economic Development Agency, IFD GmbH also took part in the event with two representatives. In addition to the introduction of the Russian participants by the President of Stankoinstrument, Georgy Samodurov, Dr Manfred Liebl, Saxony’s Economic Representative in Russia, presented the Saxon companies in attendance. Afterwards, the participants took the opportunity to hold bilateral discussions and exchange views with one another. We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere thanks to VEMASinnovativ and the Saxony Economic Development Agency for the successful organisation of the event.
