Working together for greater efficiency through precise forklift tracking
IdentPro, a specialist in digital and automated solutions for material tracking in intralogistics, and iFD, a global provider of software systems for automated and manual intralogistics applications in industry and retail, have agreed to collaborate in the areas of forklift guidance systems and the control of tugger trains.
In addition to a warehouse management and control system, iFD offers a high-performance forklift guidance system for optimising internal transport operations using forklifts and tugger trains. The system is now being supplemented by identplus®, the laser-based forklift tracking system developed by IdentPro. The forklift tracking system provides the current positions of all forklifts and tugger trains in real time. This enables even more efficient transport control. At the same time, an automatic check of the locations reached is carried out to effectively prevent incorrect and misdirected deliveries.
“The identplus® system replaces the previously required scanning of barcodes with the automatic identification of load units, whilst simultaneously eliminating search times in block warehouses,” explains Roman Kucza, Head of Sales and Marketing at IdentPro.
Kucza continues: “Furthermore, the laser localisation system can be implemented quickly and without any structural alterations to the customer’s premises, and is maintenance-free during operation.”
“This fits perfectly with iFD’s philosophy of providing customers with highly flexible solutions requiring minimal integration effort,” adds René Kröber, Product Manager for Forklift Guidance Systems at iFD.
“With IdentPro, we are gaining an innovative partner who shares our belief in digitalised and automated intralogistics, actively promotes it and supports our customers on their journey towards Industry 4.0,” says René Kröber, delighted with the collaboration.
