The battery manufacturer Winfried Hückmann GmbH based in Salz has been successful as a medium-sized B2B trading house in the batteries, accumulators and related products business for over 40 years. With its 60 employees, the company achieves a turnover of approx. 30 M€ and is on a steady growth course.

In order to further sharpen the processes in the company and thus create a solid basis for the desired further developments, Winfried Hückmann GmbH decided to introduce a warehouse management system. The system digitizes the processes that were previously organized manually using lists. The challenge for designing the solution was to use existing processes and systems and to link them seamlessly with the new software solution.

The result is iFD's own modular solution for warehouse and transport management, integrated into the existing ERP system Navision, which now ensures a continuous, maximum paperless mapping of the material flow.

The iFD system covers goods receipt, warehouse management and order picking for various storage areas, such as pallets, small parts and shelving storage, as well as returns and goods receipt. In the warehouse, forklift trucks, high-lift trucks, manual pallet trucks and picking trucks are used.

With the new software solution, Hückmann GmbH can minimize its error rates in storage and transport and respond to customer requests more quickly and flexibly. Furthermore, a cost reduction was achieved through an optimized use of resources and reliability and adherence to schedules were increased through the daily processing of orders. The warehouse management module maps the business processes in real time. In addition, the iFD solution creates the flexibility to make changes to the system yourself, such as adding a new shipping method, with little effort.
